Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!  We opted out of celebrating the traditional way with a huge Thanksgiving dinner to save a few calories for the American Thanksgiving in a few short weeks.  Could you imagine eating TWO thanksgiving dinners within 6 1/2 weeks of one another?  Talk about a lot of extra running!  Since the kids were off from school, we decided to go to the only place that was open today (aside from Tim Horton's, of course) to pick out a few pumpkins. We headed out to Fred's Market in search of a pumpkin.  Here Emmersyn is waiting outside the bathroom for Cameron to brush his teeth.

How cute are those bat yoga pants I found?????  And the shirt could not be more true!

Here the kids were discussing how to choose the perfect pumpkin...shape, color, size.....

Cameron decided to pose next to Mr. Scarecrow....before heading into the car.

And, here were the pumpkins we found.  I didn't get a chance to get a picture of them picking their pumpkins, but when we go to the pumpkin patch, I'll make sure to have the camera.

Emmersyn did not want to pose with her dad.  She wanted to start decorating her pumpkin.

Then it was off to decorate.....

Because I have no idea on how to carve a pumpkin, the kids picked out easy Mr. Potato head-like characters to decorate their pumpkins....

That's about it for this Thanksgiving.  Next year, I think we are going to do the traditional turkey dinner.  These kids are going to have nothing to write about when their teachers ask them to write a short story about what they did for Thanksgiving!
