A conversation with Emmersyn

It has been great spending more time with the kids since Mohamed has been away.  I have really enjoyed my time with them.  Today when I picked up Emmersyn from school, she was so excited to see me.  She ran to me and gave me a huge hug.  While hugging me she said,

"I missed you soooooo much, Mommie.  I love you."

How does this not just melt your heart?  This is something a parent would typically say to their child, right?  Yeah, but not in my case....it is what my child says to me.  She is so sweet!

Then, once we got into the car, she says, "I want to go to the coffee house."  (Tim Hortons)

Me:  "Mommie doesn't want to get coffee now.  I'll get you Timbits later."

Emmersyn:  "I don't want Timbits.  I want coffee.  Don't make Emmy cry."

Are you kidding me?  There might be a problem that my 3 year-old is addicted to coffee and needed her 2 o'clock caffeine kick....and talk about manipulation....."Don't make Emmy cry!"  And before that, "I missed you sooooo much Mommie.  I love you!"  So, what did I do?  Like any good parent, I turned the car around to go to Tim Hortons to get a coffee for my 3 year-old!

How could I possibly resist this cute, but manipulative face????  And....the look says she knows it!

She decided to have her coffee out on the front porch!

The look of satisfaction....

She is really enjoying her coffee....

Trying to savor the last little bit that was left in her cup.

After her little coffee break, she was on a mission to check the mail which hasn't been checked in over a week.

On the way, she stopped to inspect some creepy crawler!

Good thing she is in the habit of checking the mail with her daddy, because otherwise I would not have known which mailbox was ours.  I don't think I've ever checked the mail in the 2 1/2 years we lived in this house.

It looks like she is a little annoyed after sorting through the mail and noting that more money will be going to bills rather than toys!

After a quick change of clothes.... it was time to pick up Cameron from school....

Cameron grabbed his angry pig balloon once he got home and was ready to play after a long week of school.  Time to relax and have some fun!

A hodgepodge....

Today was another relatively uneventful day: piano, shopping, dress-up, homework...but, before we get into today....these are a few more pictures from last night.

After coming home from Grammie and Grampie's, Emmersyn wanted to be a princess.  She recruited her brother to help her accomplish the "princess" look.... and this is what happened....Emmersyn was not thrilled with the "princess" hairstyle her brother gave her.

She was much happier this morning when she could let her hair down....

Here is the daily wave to daddy....

And here Emmersyn is saying "hi" to her daddy....

What a face....

Cameron wanted to show his daddy his new winter jacket....

Doesn't he look strong????

She looks so innocent and cute....she is really manipulative and conniving!

Of course Cameron had to coerce me into going to Toys R Us to get another Angry Bird.  This is Freeze Bird.  This is the Angry Bird he wants to be for Halloween.

Emmersyn couldn't decide what she wanted to buy from Toys R Us....After searching and searching, she finally came up with this princess wand.  It's fabulous....Cameron will freeze me with his angry bird, then Emmersyn puts a spell on me to unfreeze me and break me free!  It's great!

Speaking of Halloween, the kids are so excited for Halloween.  Like I said, Cameron wants to be the Freeze angry bird, and Emmersyn wants to be a pink butterfly.  She was so excited when she found her old butterfly costume from last year.

And, Cameron didn't want to be left out of the dress-up fun so he put on his Mario costume from last year.

What a precious butterfly!

That's it for today.  Back to school tomorrow.  We'll see how we spend our afternoon!

The Bag Hat

I'm going to try to post the next few days so Mohamed can keep up on what we have been doing, as well as, see pictures of the kids.

Emmersyn loves to be clean, just as much as Cameron and Mohamed.  So, it's not abnormal for this girl to take 1, 2, or even 3 showers or baths each day.  However, on this particular day, I think she was up to number 5 or 6.  Mohamed had had enough of shampooing, conditioning, combing, drying, and straightening Emmersyn's long hair.  So, by shower number 5, Mohamed had enough and found a bag to cover her hair so that he would not have to go through the long, tedious, process of dealing with her hair.

It was so funny.  He taped this bulk barn bag to her head....and it work.  Her hair remained dry!

These were pictures from this afternoon before we left to do a little shopping and hang out with Grammie and Grampie.  Here Cameron was doing a dance for his dad.  I think he thought I was taking a video....but these still shots will have to do....

Here Emmersyn was waving "hi" in the picture to send to her dad....

Another wave.....

And a couple attempts at the 2 of them together....

So cute!

We have been so bored these past two days....and it is so quiet.  Can't wait for daddy to return!
When I asked the kids what they wanted to say to daddy, this is what they each said....
"I love you." (Emmersyn)
"We got watch boxes for him from Grammie's." (Cameron)

Monday Morning

I just thought I would share these adorable pictures of Emmersyn.  She was bright-eyed and bushy tail for a Monday morning.  The reason?  She finally got to go back to school after a long two days off for the weekend!  Let's hope Mondays continue like this throughout the school year!   I couldn't help myself but to grab the camera and snap away.  She was sooooo cute!

Emmersyn insisted that we take a picture of Cameron.  So, on a Monday morning, this is what Cameron looks like.  He is definitely a little less excited than Emmersyn when it comes to heading off to school.  He would have liked one more day added to his weekend!
