My Glasses

I found these pictures on my camera the other day when I returned home from work.  I thought they were so cute!  I wonder what else of mine these kids get into when I'm not home!

This one is probably my favorite!

Halloween Shoes

I can not find any cute Halloween shirts this year...It is very problematic!  But look what I did find...Halloween shoes!  Of course, they didn't have her size, so I bought the shoes in a size that was one size too small.  Oh well, she only needs to wear them on a few days...mainly for picture purposes!....

I showed Emmersyn her cool orange shoes when she got back from school, and insisted on trying them on.

Check them out on her feet!

Learning to take them on and off!

Such a Zombie when she returns from school!   So tired!

Look at those tired eyes!

That's it...off to work...just trying to get a little blogging done more often!

Check Out My Hats!

Emmersyn LOVES hats.  I've been on the hunt for some cute sun hats for her, but no such luck.  I'll keep looking.

Cameron is still under the weather, but did manage to make it to school.  I was stressing that he wouldn't get his dictation today and then he wouldn't be ready for his test on Friday!  Last week's dictation was "Le lit est petit."  And, I'm sorry to report there was no 100%.  I am so anxious about his school work and he is only in Senior Kindergarten.  This week's dictation is "L'hibou dit hou."  I swear when he was younger, I told myself that I wasn't going to be that crazy parent regarding school...and if Cameron got C's....that would be fine.  Who was I kidding???  I'm not so competitive in sports, but I realize that I am quite competitive in academics.  And now, unfortunately I am showing my competitiveness through Cameron.  This has GOT TO STOP!

Anyway, check out Emmersyn and her hats.  She could care less about wearing clothes, but she can't go without her hat (or Cameron's)!

Hockey Night in Canada!

Comical....is the one word I would have to describe our first skating session.  When one kid goes down...they all go down.  When the first kid gets up, the next kid trying to get up bumps into the standing kid...so the two kids are down... and this scenario happens over and over and over again!  It was great!  Today's lesson was "how to stand up from a sitting position."  Cameron caught on quicker than I thought he would.

When I asked Cameron if he liked skating he said he didn't like it because.... "my body hurts all over...everywhere."  He then told me, "I kept falling over and I kept getting up then tripping over again."

Anyway, here was our equipment waiting to get bagged.  And, the Tylenol was not just in case of an injury, it was because Cameron has been running a fever since last night.  Maybe we shouldn't have sent him onto the ice, but we did....

I had him practice putting on his helmet before we left for the rink.  The helmet was going to be a sticking point because he doesn't like how tight it is and the snaps are hard to do.

Of course Emmersyn had to try on the helmet, too.  I really need to sign this girl up for skating.  She is at the perfect age to learn to skate.  Cameron is about 3 years too late.

She was loving spinning in circles with the helmet on.  At least we were safe from any injuries.

Here we had suited up and were waiting to go onto the ice.  He doesn't look too excited.  Like I said, he was a bit under the weather.

Mohamed took a quick break from work to spy on Cameron at his first practice.  Once again, Cameron is dazed and confused!

Once he entered the area, we got a SMILE!

Here was his first touch onto the ice....

With a lot of help, he made it to his corner of the rink!

Like I said, today's lesson was learning how to stand up.  Before you knew it he was standing on his own in the middle of the rink!

Look at his great form!

Another picture of him gracefully sliding across the ice!

About halfway through, he decided to have a seat!

Before long, he was up and skating again.

He is definitely paying close attention as to how the instructor is describing how to stand up.  Balance on one knee, put two hands on that knee, and push up!  Voila!  You are standing on the ice!

Look where good listening skills can get you!

On your mark, get set, go... It looks like it's gonna be a tie!

So, this was the last 10 minutes of practice.  His teacher brought him over to the bench area to take a rest.  He was in tears complaining that he was "too tired" and "my head hurts all over."  I wasn't sure if it was because of the helmet or because of the illness.  So, I let him skip out on the last 10 minutes of practice.  Once again he was complaining that his whole body hurt from falling/tripping all the time.  He didn't think that was very much fun.  Anyway, I'll keep you posted week by week to show any improvements!

Brownie Obsession....

The story goes.... I was out to pick up turkey for a quick semi-healthy after school snack.  While I was out, Mohamed phoned me and insisted that I pick up this thing called "brownie obsession."  Well, I found it...and that was the problem.  Who wanted turkey when there was brownie obsession?  Mohamed couldn't resist....Cameron might have had a bite or two, but Emmersyn and Mohamed ate the majority of this scrumptious treat.  I, of course, couldn't resist either....it is sooooo good!

All excited to head off to school!

She had to make a quick return trip for the pacy!

Here, Emmersyn found the stash of stickers that were meant for the plane ride.... They worked well as I had hoped...she spent hours "stickering" herself up.  Unfortunately, I had not intended for her to spend the hours with the stickers at home, but rather on the plane.  The best laid plans of mice and men, oft go astray again and again!  (Isn't that right...or something to that effect!)

The end of the week

Another week has come and gone and there is nothing new to report.  Swimming was successful, the kids gained some knowledge, and Cameron is counting down the days until I will finally allow him to pack his suitcase for our vacation!  Anyway, how cute is Emmersyn in this outfit?  I just kept snapping pictures!  She was so happy to be going to school!

She never forgets her backpack when going to school!

These pictures were from Wednesday morning that Mohamed took.  I wanted to get a cute picture of her with her boots, but they kinda just blended into her leggings.  We'll get a better picture next time!
