Cameron made a special request this year that the Easter Bunny fill his eggs with money. He did not want candy because candy is not healthy, not nutritious, and it creates sugar bugs in his teeth. Money, however does not create sugar bugs and does not cause pain when you go to the dentist. He is always thinking. He was, however, a bit concerned with where he was going to put all of his money because his piggy bank is full. When I offered to hold on to his money, he came up with an alternate solution. He wanted to buy another piggy bank. What a smart and financially astute young man I have. To need another piggy bank by the age of four. If he continues at this rate, I won't need to keep my fingers crossed that he will get a scholarship to college. He'll have his college education all paid for!
And I just want to preface these pictures by saying that I know there are a LOT of pictures contained in this entry. Feel free to skip over them. I know I will never scrapbook all of these pictures, so I wanted a handful to be in the blog book that I'll be able to look through years down the road.
Let the egg hunt begin. The Easter bunny left notes for both Cameron and Emmersyn regarding specific directions and how to identify their chosen eggs. Cameron had the football, baseball, and basketball eggs, while Emmersyn had the colorful, decorated eggs! Also, daddy's office was off limits until all the eggs were accounted for. The Easter bunny hid some special surprises in there!
Emmersyn took frequent breaks in between finding her eggs to snack on the chocolate teddy grahams that were in her eggs.
A face of frustration after searching and searching and not finding!
Boy can the Easter bunny hop high! Good thing for daddies!
Another break to eat some more.
And she can't even put down her food long enough for me to snap a quick picture.
What an inquisitive look on Cameron's face when he found his Easter surprise. Not quite sure what to think.
And the Canadian Easter bunny wraps the presents. He must work in close proximity to Santa Claus. Go figure.
After all of the excitement at home, we were off to Nicole's for Easter dinner with the family! Emmersyn loves to climb up and down the stairs. So, I grabbed the camera, and took a shot on her favorite place.
Mom was making her crack up in this picture in an attempt to remove her fingers from her mouth. A success! Great job mom!
Thanks to Crystal, I was able to get into a picture. Unfortunately, Emmersyn's hand found its way back into her mouth.
Pretty in pink! Grammie and Amanda.
This is a great picture of Justin and Crystal. I got this picture in between them warming up their fabulous appetizers!
And how handsome are these two boys? Speaking of handsome, the other night when I was putting Cameron to bed, I told him he was such a handsome boy. His response was "no I'm not handsome." "Yes you are. You are very handsome," I responded. "I'm not handsome because I'm not wearing glitter," said Cameron. Oh...now I get it.
Gabby obviously did not find whatever Emmersyn was cracking up over very funny.
Trying to get the two girls with Grammie.
Here was another attempt, however Emmersyn was a bit jealous that Gabby was also in Grammie's arms and was trying to push her down.
I thought this was just a cute picture of Cameron.
All of the guys just standing around. It was great to see Uncle Leon who we don't get to see often enough. He made an awesome swirl cake! It was moist, tasted delicious, and the swirl was swirled to perfection!
My attempt at getting Cameron and Emmersyn together. FAILED!
Emmersyn wanted nothing to do with Uncle Justin holding her.
Then we headed outside for an Easter egg hunt! How fun.
Emmersyn was off to the neighbor's house just to make sure there were no eggs hidden in their trees!
Here, Nicole is trying to use her limited math skills to add up all of the eggs in the kid's baskets to see if they found all 38 eggs. It took her multiple attempts and she came up with 24 eggs on one attempt, 22 1/2 eggs on another, and even added a total of 39 eggs (more eggs than were even hidden). I guess we shouldn't have been surprised knowing her sharp math skills. Pay close attention to the look on her face. She is really concentrating on her addition!
Once we were sure that all of the eggs were found, we tried to get all of the nieces and nephews together for a picture. FAILED! Here were my attempts.
I love Nicholas in this picture! And check out Cameron.
I think this family photo turned out cute!
By the end of the night, this was all I was getting out of Emmersyn! I think she had enough. Could you blame her? Hopefully she'll appreciate all the photos some day!
Looking forward to seeing Nicole's blog. Hopefully she'll show off her amazing Easter cookies!
