The Sleepover

We were so excited to have a sleepover with Amanda, Nicholas, and Gabby while Nicole and Steve visited Boston.  This was Cameron and Emmersyn's first sleepover!  Here they were making their way to the front door with their luggage in hand.....

They had lots of fun playing in the basement....

Amanda was such a great help!  She was an awesome co-babysitter!  Thanks for all of your help Amanda!

Cameron, Nicholas, and I played card Fruit Ninja.  It was crazy.  Nicholas and I were not having ANY LUCK.  We would draw bomb after bomb after bomb.  Cameron, well, he choose fruit after fruit after fruit.  Cameron was the overall winner of Fruit Ninja.

How cute are these two little girls?  Here they were watching Dora with their puppies in hand.

Back to another game of Fruit Ninja.  Check out all of Cameron's fruit next to him.  I think he was trying to get a sneak peak at the Dora episode the girls were watching in the other room.  Nicholas was trying to put a spell on the cards so he wouldn't get another bomb!

Here my co-babysitter is slathering sunscreen all over Nick's face....

Nick thought it was funny at first....

But, then asked if the other babysitter could finish applying the sunscreen to his face!

Out came the hose for some water fun!

Then Amanda got the sprinkler going....

While Amanda was getting the sprinkler ready, the other kids were listening to Cameron who was coming up with some type of plan.

Cameron giving Nicholas some advice on how to keep his two feet down on the hot blacktop.

Sprinkler was finally ready!

There goes Nick!

Emmersyn was the last to get wet!

Gabby was loving it!

I love this picture of Gabby just taking in the water.  It must have felt great.  It was 90+ degrees!

Emmersyn coerced the others to put the sprinkler away and to take out her favourite....the slip-n-slide.

Here Amanda and Gabby are getting the slip-n-slide ready.  Trying to wet both sides evenly.

And these guys were all waiting in great anticipation to do some slipping and sliding.

Cameron raced against Emmersyn....

Doesn't this girl have PERFECT form????

And she made it all the way to the end!

Now, Nicholas....he is super crazy and super strong.  Not to mention SUPER FAST!  He was hilarious!

He slid right off the end of the slip-n-slide.  He had soooo much speed and power!

And check out his next turn on his stomach!  He totally flies off the end!

This girl was doing all the work, while I just sat back snapping photos!  I told you she was a great help!

Not sure what type of crazy pose Cameron is doing here!

After all that playing, it was time for a little dinner.  Dino nuggets, salad, and fruit!  I can handle that type of meal!

Check out this cute picture of the kids all watching the Muppet Movie.  This lasted all but 10 minutes before the little girls and Cameron had enough.  Nicholas joined Cameron about 10 minutes later.  Amanda was the only one who made it through the whole movie!

So CUTE!

This picture was around 9:00 p.m.  I just brought up the girls to try to settle them down after a 30 minute sugar high.  I guess those Mike and Ikes, Twix, Snickers, and M&M's weren't such a great idea.  But, let me tell you...it sure was a funny spectacle to watch.  Two 3 year-olds, a 6 year-old, 7 year-old, and 10 year-old...all high on sugar!

Here Gabby was coming down from the sugar rush!  Dazed and confused!

Within four minutes of the hum of the treadmill Emmersyn was asleep and three minutes later Gabby was asleep!

Amanda kept me company while flipping through her magazine.

Then this morning we headed out for a short walk to the park.

Nicholas is still in training and insisted that we go to the park so he can get in his daily pull-ups!

Cameron was just hoping he was going to make it across the monkey bars.

Emmersyn is on her way down the slide via the stairs after finding out that the slide had a bit of water on it.

These guys wanted to do some spinning on the tire!

Then after working off a few calories, the kids wanted to get some ice cream!  Who could resist?  We experienced a small problem earlier in the day with the key breaking off in the car door when Amanda went to unlock the car....but, we were not going to let a broken key stop us from getting ice cream!  A little tape on the key fab and we were ready to go.

Holy Cow!  If I had 5 kids this is what it would look like going to the grocery store.  I say that, but, really it wouldn't be that bad!  Everyone had a buddy....Emmersyn and Gabby....Nicholas and Cameron.....And me and Amanda!  So Simple!

Emmersyn doesn't like ice cream (weird, I know) so it was a good thing there was a Dunkin Donuts next to Carval!  Everyone was sooooo happy!

I love this!  Emmersyn is soooo into her donut and Nicholas is soooo into his shake!

That sums up the majority of our sleepover.  We had so much fun!  I'm so sad it's over!  So is Cameron.  He left the house in tears because he didn't want it to end.  I told him the sleepover would be at our house next time!  So looking forward to it!

  1. I can't believe you did all those things!!!! What a great post. Loved the pictures. Especially you with 5 kids in the car. That was a great photo of gabby and emmersyn in the bed. I can't believe you gave my kids all that sugar. Why didn't you take photos at 11:30 when all the fun really began???

Thanks so much for helping us out! I can't wait to plan a sleepover when you are out of town next!

  2. Mo, you deserve a metal. Even though you play it off as not a big deal, dealing with five kids has to be exhausting. All the pictures were great and it allows Nicole and I to have a little visual of what went on during the sleepover. Who snapped the great picture of you and Amanda?

Cameron reminds me of how Nicholas used to be in pictures...never showing his teeth. Loved the pictures of Emmersyn and Gabby, super cute! Gabby will be saying Emmersyn's name hundreds of times a day now. That fruit ninja game looked like lots of fun, I'd like to get in on the next one. You guys crammed in a ton of stuff in such a short time frame. Nicholas is dying to show anyone who will watch just how strong he is. Emmersyn might have the best slip and sliding form of anyone her age.

Thanks for watching the kids and look forward to when we can have the next sleep over.

  3. What a fun time for the kids and how great that you captured the sleepover in these photos.

It reminds me of when all you guys spent a week with us in the summers -- that was six kids! Believe me, they are memories you will cherish so keep those sleepovers going! When the kids are good, I think it is as much fun for us adults as it is for the kids. Besides, nothing makes it easier for a mother than when her children are happy :)

Waiting for Nicole's blog to hear about the trip to Boston!!
