"Surprises"

So the other day Mohamed brought home a "surprise" for Cameron after school.  It's not like these kids need any surprises or even ask for any surprises.....but Cameron LOVED it!  It was this cool Mario kart remote control car.  It goes sooooo FAST!

So, of course I get jealous that Mohamed got Cameron a "surprise" so the following day, I felt that I had to 'one up' Mohamed and get a better "surprise" for Cameron.  What kid doesn't love water?  So, I came home with a pool!  I looked at the manual and even watched the instructional DVD and I still couldn't figure out this easy set up pool.  So, Mohamed set up my surprise....

I love that long path of dead grass in the background....That is where we slip-n-slide!

A better picture of our slip-n-slide run way!

I love Mohamed's body language in this picture.

The kids could not wait to start swimming....little did they know that they had a LONG wait in front of them!

More waiting....

And more waiting......with some silly faces....

Trying to swim in a few centimetres of water....

Then Emmersyn got ahold of the hose....here comes trouble....So, about 2 1/2 hours into the filling process, we headed out to the store to buy some pool toys....

When we got home, the pool was about half full...Still the kids didn't want to wait, so they played with their toys in a half filled pool.

Cameron was pretending he was on the river raft ride in the Bahamas.  He was wondering where all of the waves were!

Now when I wanted to get a picture of Emmersyn, she would go under water.

And again...

And again.....

Cameron caught on pretty quick.  Mom can't take a picture if I am under the water.

Here he was being silly with both floatation devices!

5 hours later, the pool was as full as it was going to get tonight.  I was tired of waiting for all of this water.  And, I was smart enough to buy a pool cover so we wouldn't have to go through this 5 hour water ordeal daily.  It comes with a filter and I'll grab some chlorine.  Maybe we'll get away with changing the water weekly!

What will the next surprise be????  I'm not sure what Mohamed has on his mind, but I think Cameron would really love a jet ski!  HeHeHe

  1. The kids are going to love that pool this summer. I hope you are not changing that water weekly. That will be a nightmare. I can hardly wait to see the large patch of burned grass that will be underneath the swimming pool. The slip and side runway will be nothing compared to the pool floor. How fun! Amanda and Nick and Gabby will all be jealous. We will be heading over to your house to play.
