I was bored this morning and randomly started looking back at previous blog posts. They were so cool and I had lots of fun reminiscing. Then, my joy turned into sadness as I realized that I haven't blogged at all in January. I have a lot to make up......I don't even know where to begin. 31 days go by and because I didn't document anything, I have no idea what we did in these 31 days. I haven't been taking pictures, because I'm so unhappy with the way my camera has been taking photos. These are the only pictures that I found looking back over the past month......
Emmersyn still loves taking her naps on her lion. She'll be 15 years old and probably still be sleeping on the lion. Maybe we should wait to order that King size mattress we were thinking about....hmmmmmmm.
What an unbelievably warm January 2012 we have had. We have been so spoiled. The kids are always taking advantage of the nice weather to play outside. You would never know it was January.
I've been trying to bring the kids across to visit Grammie and Grampie so they can visit more than just on holidays. Cameron loves hanging out with Grampie playing the old school Super Mario Brothers on Nintendo. Emmersyn shouts, "yahhhh" every time I ask her if she wants to go see Grammie.
Here it was dad's turn to get Mario to the end of the level.
And then it was Cameron's turn. I have a really cute video, however I can't upload the video which was taken from my iPhone. What a bummer. Dad was cheering Cameron on and telling him how cool it was to have fire power!
January has been filled with lots and lots of Legos. We are always on the hunt to find Legos. At one point I went to every toy store here in Windsor, and crossed into the States in search of plain Legos. Not the ones that come prepackaged to make a specific vehicle. So, Cameron ended up with pink "Girl" legos to start with. I scout out the stores weekly to pick up boxes of Legos. Emmersyn has been into the Duplex legos making cool creations of her own.
It's a little more difficult for Emmersyn to build seeing that she loves her Timbits and can't seem to put them down.
This is what Emmersyn does when Cameron is at skating practice. She decorates the car windows with Mickey stickers. This is much better than chasing her around the ice rink.
Here is a picture of the one day that it did snow in January. We had to head out at night to enjoy the snow....It would be gone by the morning.
This was just a random picture I took of Cameron showing off one of Emmersyn's Lego creations.
Here is a collection of Cameron's Legos on one of my side dressers. He insists there is not a better place to display them.
And, Emmersyn started swim lessons this month, which she absolutely LOVES. Yes, I want her to learn to swim, but without her arms in the water.....weird, but spoken from experience. Mohamed brings her to swimming when I'm at work, and I'm not so sure on how good of a job he is doing with keeping her arms out of the water. Her muscles are growing weekly! Ahhhhhh! Cameron is swimming as well, and looks forward to swimming every week. There are no stipulations on his swimming. I'm fine with him using his arms to swim.
Also, in January we started working on some home projects. It has been quite interesting. One night, when we were all under the weather, Mohamed had a great idea around 9 at night to go for a drive. To make a long story short, we ended up purchasing much needed curtains for our living room. Since we aren't great at this home renovation stuff, we didn't think that it was essential to measure the length of the window. Needless to say, they were a bit short.
The following day, we decided to get a measuring tape and measure the length of the window. Now all we need is a liner. It's hard to tell that they are the perfect length in this picture, but believe me, they are now floor length.
The treadmill.....Hmmmm where to begin with this topic. Here's the low down. My beloved treadmill has been giving me issues the past few months. It makes weird noses, the calibration is off, my leg was bothering me, and now my hip is bothering me. So, I finally ordered a new treadmill which is scheduled for delivery for tomorrow, but since no one will be around, it will be dropped off on Wednesday. Looking forward to spending lots of quality time with my best nonhuman friend.
On another note, with my treadmill, Cameron received his "bulletin scolaire jardin d'enfants." I started to freak out under the "Education physique et sante" category when the teacher wrote, "Je l'encourage d'augmenter ses seances d'activities physiques a fin d'ameliorer son endurance." Which simply translates to.....Cameron needs to work on his endurance. So, within 30 seconds of me reading this comment, Cameron had his Nike's laced up and was on the treadmill! I had him start at running 1/4 mile. I have him on a training schedule so that by the end of February he will be running 2 miles and by the end of June, we will be training for the 1/2 marathon!
Here is another one of January's projects....We started to hang these photos along the wall of the stairs. It is the beginning of the project....the rest of the photos are waiting for their frames.
Another random picture of Cameron playing the Wii with Emmersyn chilling in the background.
Project #3 for January. We hung some shelving on the walls in the basement. We are now looking for some cool things to display!
The kids have really gotten into this TV program called "La Mouche." It's a French program about a fly. I'm sure Emmersyn doesn't understand all of the French, but Cameron is a great translator. Today it was a scary episode so Emmersyn sat beside Cameron so he could hold her hand. Look at how she put her arm through his. It was so funny. And check out her facial expressions. Remember she was watching a show about a FLY!
Anyway, that is all that I can remember about January 2012. I am really going to try to be better this month. I should implement the activity of the day challenge again, hummmmmm?????

So excited that you blogged. I thought that you might be giving it up. Great pictures and recap for the month.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your next post.
You need to take some picture of Cameron during skating. Dad and I should come by on a Sunday to watch.
AWESOME!! Implement the challenge! Blog everyday for the rest of the month of Feb. I forgot how much I like reading your blog. The Lego sidetable is so cool. At our house I house the Lego dresser in Nicholas' room. Watch out because it can quickly take up your kitchen and bathroom counters. Amanda was laughing about the fly cartoon and I was laughing about the 1/2 marathon Cam is training for. You have to keep writing. Amanda is also hoping Cam will show up with a Birthday video sometime near the 20th of Feb. We will keep checking the blog with more frequency.
ReplyDeleteYou are back! YAY! I was a little worried that you may have abandoned the blog. I love all of the photos and I'm a huge fan of activity of the day! Can't wait to see what you come up with. Keep up the blogging!
