Gabby's Birthday Party

So today we spent our day having fun and hanging out with Gabby celebrating her 2nd B'Day.  Everything was great until I got to the bridge on the way home and saw that we had a 90 minute wait.  1 1/2 hours is a lllloooonnnngggg time to wait at the bridge with two kids.  And, usually these posted times are an underestimation.  My rule is to double the time posted and that's how long it will take me to cross.  I didn't want to waste too much time so after making a few phone calls, checking my emails, and playing a few rounds of angry birds, I took out the baby wipes and started to clean the inside of my car.  But, to my surprise, our wait was just under the 1 1/2 hour listed time.  Needless to say I was a happy camper and had a clean inside of my car.  Anyway, here are a few of the pictures from the festivities. I'm sure Nicole will post her AWESOME Mickey cake and cookies.  Here we go.

This first picture is Mohamed just trying to get his picture with the kids before they left for the party..

And we all know of my picture jealousy, so I handed him the camera so I could get a picture with the kids, too.

As soon as we got to Gabby's, she was all kisses!  She loves to give hugs and kisses to everyone, especially to Emmersyn.  It is soooo cute!

Before all of the guests had arrived, Amanda, Cameron, and Nicholas played a little Wii.

How cute are these two sisters?

My best attempt at capturing Grammie with the two little girls...

So, not only does Nicole put on a fabulous party and make awesome treats, but she also hands out free massages to her guests!  Give me a break!  Does this girl ever relax?

I lost count of how many times I had to chase Emmersyn up and down the stairs.  I guess it helped to burn off some of those extra calories from all of the goodies at the party.  And those chocolate marshmallow treats...yum yum!

Here is the birthday girl during her big moment...

And while Gabby was opening presents, this is where I found Emmersyn.  In the toy box throwing all of the toys out of the box.  I think she was trying to avoid being jealous after she saw all of the cute outfits that Gabby received!

I'm  sure Nicole will fill you in on the best present from Aunt Laura and Uncle Brad... The PURSE!

Gabby found her friend after opening all of her presents and joined Emmersyn in the toy box.

How cute is Tyler?  I think Tyler and Emmersyn must both be teething.  (K/Crystal is cute too.  I love her bangs!)

Here mom is spending hours trying to untangle Amanda's necklaces!  Steve gave up probably after an hour, and then mom took over.  She successfully untangled them by the time I got to the border and began my wait!  Great job mom!  Undoing the slinky months ago must have really helped with the necklaces!

Here I was so excited...The border booth was finally in sight.  And, the inside of my car was clean!

When I got home I think I was still on a sugar high from all of the treats.  I emptied the dishwasher, did a load of laundry, took out the garbage, and blogged.  I need to give the kids a bath and get them to bed.  Goodnight!

The Leotard

Emmersyn was practicing all of her gymnastics moves around the house today, so, I couldn't resist when she asked to go out and buy a leotard.  She opted for the slimming black rather than the pink leotard.  What do you think?  Now she will really be ready for those bars and rings on Friday.

Nothing else new to report.  Just a lazy, rainy Saturday filled with running errands (Zehr's, Old Navy, Bulk Barn), cleaning, and writing reports.  Trying to get motivated to organize the office.  Problem is that most of the paperwork is Mohamed's and he isn't around to help with the organization.  We'll see what I come up with.  Looking forward to Gabby's birthday party tomorrow.  Can't wait to see what type of crazy cookies Nicole has made and how the Mickey cake turned out.  I'm sure it's going to be FABULOUS!

Here is something I learned today...The shortest =ology (study of) word is oology, the study of eggs.  Did anyone know this?

My Little Olympian

So, Emmersyn absolutely LOVED gymnastics.  Unfortunately I did not bring my camera because I didn't really know what to expect, but Mohamed captured these few pictures on his iPhone.  I'll be sure to bring the camera for our next practice.  Her favorite events were the rings and the bars!  I think the class was an advanced beginner class and they were doing high kicks on the beam, seat drops (?) on the trampoline, and one legged stance on this balance thing????  Emmersyn had no clue what to do and of course had her own agenda.  But, all that matters is that she had fun.

Cameron has still not been in the picture taking mood.  Can you tell????

And Emmersyn discovered Ranch!  Ranch has now become a competitor to ketchup!  She did not get this gene from me.  I can not stand the smell or taste of Ranch dressing.  This gene definitely came from Mohamed.  He will put Ranch on anything....pizza, noodles....anything.

On a side note, we finally ordered our living room furniture for the downstairs and are anxiously awaiting its arrival in 6-8 weeks.  We have a painter in mind and are hoping he can give us an estimate some time this week.  I'm looking so forward to having our house painted.  Now, I just need to find my cleaning service.  I made one call for an estimate, but want to look around a little more.  I don't like to clean!

Hope everyone has a fun weekend!

A Beautiful Day

Finally a beautiful day!  Here is what we did...

We put Emmersyn into the stroller and headed for some fun at the park...  It was so much easier this year as compared to last year with Emmersyn.  Emmersyn had no problems keeping up with her big brother!

All that playing really makes you thirsty!

Then once we got back home, it was off on the bikes.

And, we had to play with a bit of chalk before going back inside.  Cameron was writing math problems on the driveway to solve.  He's always thinking!

After all of that playing, we headed right up the stairs and straight for the bath.

We are so looking forward to the rest of the summer.
And, to sum up these last set of pictures, same story....just another day.  She eats ketchup practically every day.  The bulk ketchup from Costco doesn't last us long.

A quick recap

Lots has happened since the last entry.  Most significantly, I put in my resignation to my job in the States. This means I will no longer be required to play the border game on a daily basis.  I'll be working in a private practice with no one to answer to but myself.  How wonderful is that?  No more internal politics, asking for time off, productivity, or sitting through unnecessary meetings!  What a relief!

Nothing really new on Mohamed's end.  Just working and trying to get back into working out.

Cameron continues to thrive with his French, and is still into the Wii and computer.  The other day he was playing a computer game and passed a difficult level, a level that I was having difficulty passing.  When I told Cameron I was proud of him and questioned him how he passed, he simply stated, "I used my brains."  Okay, I thought.  He then proceeded to point to the particular area on his head that housed the "brains" that he used.  He told me at times he uses other parts of his "brains" to solve other problems.

On another note, Cameron has been talking about starting gymnastics for the past 2 weeks.  Great, I thought.  Maybe this session he won't throw a temper tantrum when we walk into the building.  He woke up this morning all excited, however, once we got there...same story just another day.  But, Emmersyn loved it!  She was sooooooo cute modeling everything the instructors were doing.  She loved all of the other kids in the class and was laughing the whole time.  So, I went right up to the registration desk, withdrew Cameron from the class and registered Emmersyn for gymnastics.  She will be going to gymnastics on Friday mornings.  She is so excited and this might be the start to an Olympian.

Here are a few pics of Emmersyn.  Cameron has not been in the picture taking mood lately.

This is Emmersyn's favorite place to climb.  On the top of the couch.

The only time Emmersyn can sneak a turn on the Wii these days is when Cameron is at school.

Look at how intense she is when she is about to beat Bowser!

Back again to her favorite position.

The only picture I have of Cameron.  He does love his sister, without a doubt.

And, like Cameron, she has become addicted to the Computer.  I've been trying to teach her how to type, but she would rather play Primate Pileup!

At least she knows how to log off and shut down the computer.
